Concanavalin A (Con-A) - Biotin Labeled, Affinity Pure

Description:
Biotin-c-Concanavalin A (Con-A)

Presentation:
The lectin used in this product is a research grade affinity-purified Concanavalin A (Con A).
Main carbohydrate recognition characteristics: (alpha) Mannosyl- and Glucosyl- residues.
Total activity of conjugate against an affinity matrix: >95%
Total activity of conjugate against an avidin matrix: >95%
Molecular Weight of Con A: 104,000 d
Almost all preparations of the purified Con A will contain a small percentage of aggregates. High concentrations of Con A are not stable in buffer solutions for long term storage. For an accurate determination of conjugate concentration after prolonged storage, it is recommended to clear the conjugate solution by low speed centrifugation followed by 0.2 mm filtration. The extinction coefficient
for Con A: E =12.0

Aliquoting Instructions:
Dilute 50 to 100 fold in 50 mM sodium acetate buffer pH 6.5, 0.9% sodium chloride containing 1 mM [Ca2+] and [Mn2+]ions, 2-5mg/mL bovine serum albumin. Do not dilute entire sample at once.

Specificity:
a-mannose, a-glucose.

Storage:
Refrigerate at 4°C. Do not freeze.
