Bax (Anti-Rat)

Description:
Bcl-2, Bax, and Bcl-X are members of a family of proteins that regulate apoptosis. In contrast to Bcl-2a and Bcl-XL, overexpression of bax protein accelerates the programmed cell death (apoptosis). Bax is raised against an amino acid sequence of rat bax protein that is not identical in mouse and human bax protein.

Application:
- Immunofluorescence
- Western Blotting (Ab 1µg/ml for 2hrs at RT)

Immunogen:
A Synthetic peptide, aa 3-16 (Cys-GSGEQLGGGGPTSS), of RAT bax protein. This amino acid sequence is NOT identical in mouse and human bax protein

Cellular Localization:
Cell Membrane, Cytoplasmic

Species Reactivity:
Rat. Does not react with Mouse and Human. Others not tested.

Recommended Positive Control:
PC12 Cells

Epitope:
aa 3-16
